How will I be able to print the buildings?

Once assembled we will provide you with one STL-File for every story of your building. That means you will be able to swap stories around and have a nice and playable interior.

Can we slice/split floors into smaller parts for printing?

Currently, we don’t have a feature that allows you to do so. It was simply not a priority up until now. We have encountered the problem before and have some ideas on how to solve them but nothing has been tested or tried yet. If we come up with a good way of solving the issue it will most likely be included as a Stretch Goal or implemented into the website anyway.

How will the floors hold together?

This is also one of the problems that we have in the backs of our minds, but to present to you an Open Beta it was not at all a priority on our schedules. We have a couple of ideas both for pegs and magnet holds and they will be implemented since we planned on doing this as an early Stretch Goal.

This stretchgoal was reached, we will add a PEG and Magnet system to our models! You will be able to choose where those will be placed on your finished building

Can we add our own models to the Townbuilder?

No. But we love the idea! So once the Townbuilder is save and sound, we will get back to that!

Will we still have our saved buildings after the Beta?

Yes, if nothing goes wrong, you will be able to use the Beta accounts in the normal Townbuilder.

Can we have X as a theme for the Townbuilder?

All unlocked set themes will be voted by the community, we will give you guys access to a poll where you can vote for the theme you would like to see modeled for the Townbuilder.

Will the Townbuilder be a downloadable Desktop app in the future?

The current plan looks somewhat like this: > Get the Townbuilder Desktop finished with all features > Get the Townbuilder usable on Mobile devices > Talk about possible offline Solutions

So currently no, but we would like that to be an option in the future!

Will users be able to add their own models to the system?

We don’t currently plan on allowing user-submitted designs into our system. Our system of models is pretty complex and, for a lack of a better term, fragile. If each model isn’t positioned and offset 100% correctly, and we are talking about pixel perfect here, the whole thing comes crashing down and buildings won’t be printable anymore.

We would absolutely LOVE for this to be possible, but I hope you understand that our first step is to get the Townbuilder steady and production ready before allowing users to introduce models into the system.

I am a 3D print shop/print service and want to sell models from the Townbuilder- how does licensing work?

After the Kickstarter is fulfilled, we plan on opening up a Patreon were we distribute models on a monthly basis. This is were you will also find a merchant tier.

This will include all released models and the license to sell our prints for the month you supported us. So a fixed price for as many sales as you can muster.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
